Vata

  • Light, dry, cool, mobile
  • Quick thinking and adaptable

Pitta

Fire & Water

In Ayurvedic tradition: The energy of transformation — digestion, metabolism, and focus. Sharp, driven, and clear when balanced; irritable or overheated when not.

  • Warm, sharp, intense
  • Focused and goal-oriented
  • Prefers cooling foods and calm

Kapha

Earth & Water

In Ayurvedic tradition: The energy of structure — strength, stability, and immunity. Steady, calm, and nurturing when balanced; sluggish or heavy when not.

Your individual blend

You are more than one dosha.

Most people have one or two dominant doshas. There is no “best” constitution — the aim in Ayurveda is to support your natural blend through food, routine and practice suited to you.

Prakriti describes your underlying constitution; Vikriti describes your current pattern. Understanding the difference helps put the doshas in context.
