The Right Beverage for a Healthy Life: Balance Your Doshas

Ayurveda Wellness Expert Dr Girish ShirkeJanuary 30, 20264 min

Have you ever wondered why certain foods or drinks cause a real energy boost for some, while for others they only bring heaviness and fatigue? The key to this mystery lies in Ayurveda – the ancient Indian wisdom of life, which reveals that each of us is uniquely composed of three life energies, known as doshas: Pitta, Kapha, and Vata.

Illustration of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha doshas as the basis for preparing the right drink for a healthy life according to Ayurveda.

When these energies fall out of balance, our body sends clear signals: fatigue, digestive problems, or various skin inflammations. Ayurveda shows us that one of the simplest yet most effective ways to restore lost harmony is through the choice of the right drinks. Indeed, from my experience, this approach can work wonders!

1. Pitta Dosha: How to Calm the Inner Fire

Pitta is the dosha that regulates metabolism, digestion, and immunity. However, when this "inner fire" becomes too strong, a series of unpleasant problems can arise. Consider the following symptoms – do they sound familiar?

  • Acne and irritated skin;

  • Gastritis, ulcers, or persistent heartburn;

  • Chronic inflammation, such as arthritis;

  • Anxiety and excessive sweating.

Recipe for Balancing Pitta

This drink is designed to cool the body and soothe inflammation. Simple, yet so effective!

Ayurvedic herbs and spices arranged around a cup of warm tea representing the right drink for a healthy life and balance.
  • Ingredients: One-quarter teaspoon each of cumin seeds, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, fresh parsley, and dried rose petals.

  • Preparation: Pour one cup of boiling water over all the ingredients. Then, let it steep for five minutes, just enough for all the flavors and properties to be absorbed.

  • Important: For the best cooling effect, serve it cold or at room temperature. I emphasize this because we often forget that the temperature of the drink also plays a major role!

2. Kapha Dosha: Wake Up with Energy and Boost Your Metabolism

People with a dominant Kapha dosha often feel slower, have difficulty waking up in the morning, and are prone to weight gain. An excessive amount of Kapha can lead to serious health challenges, such as:

  • Poor circulation and high cholesterol;

  • Risk of diabetes and heart disease;

  • Depressive states and a feeling of heaviness in the chest.

With this warm and spicy drink, I assure you that you will quickly "wake up" your metabolism and feel an influx of energy.

  • Important: Always drink it hot. Only then will you stimulate circulation and feel the true warmth of this drink.

3. Vata Dosha: Restore Peace and Hydration to Your Body

Vata types are often creative, quick, and full of ideas, but at the same time, they lose balance very easily. Dry skin, feelings of fear, and constant restlessness are the first signs of imbalance. If this excess of Vata persists, it can lead to more serious conditions:

  • Constipation and bloating;

  • Insomnia and memory problems;

  • Joint pain, spondylosis, and even disc herniation.

The goal of this drink is to warm the body and "ground" the nervous system, bringing you peace and tranquility.

For Deeper Care:

While homemade drinks are a fantastic start, for deeper and faster action, I believe that products from are irreplaceable. They offer 100% natural, organic products that are globally recognized for their exceptional purity and quality. From my experience, the difference is drastic when using something so pure and authentic.

If you are facing a chronic imbalance, my specialist colleagues warmly recommend herbal extract capsules that directly target the cause of the problem. Whether you need support for digestion, calming the nervous system, or effective detoxification, products are made according to strict authentic Ayurvedic principles, with a single goal: to help you achieve peak health and well-being. In my opinion, this is an investment in yourself that will surely pay off.
